Video encoding had been overheating my heavily overclocked i2600k, and I was excited to push the legendary 210 CFM fan to its limits. Seriously though, this fan was awesome. While booting my computer would sound like a jet taxiing to the runway. See video:
Of course, just as I’m getting some encoding done, my brand new 256g OCZ Vector (VTR1-25SAT3-256G) dies. SSDs are notoriously unreliable (mirror), but I can’t stand the slow grind of a mechanical hard drive. I finally received the RMA yesterday – time for more recovery and rebuilding. Thankfully, I have CrashPlan. But until then, stay tuned – I’m nearing completion on several articles 🙂
